Feb.1961 – enlisted in the Air Force,- applied for duty in Germany … Bingo!

After flying a desk for 3 years I applied for and obtained an “Over-Seas -Out”. Four months later I married my -“STILL”- present wife Brigitte.

I had numerous civilian jobs with the US Forces from “64 to 76” that took us as far north as Hanover where the sunshine of our life, our son Stephan, was born in 1967.

We moved to Lich in 1969. Lich is a small town with a 10,000 population located 30 miles north of Frankfurt. We built our house here in 1974.

A got involved with the towns basketball club and played for 12 years. A knee injury in 1986 ended my playing days. For the past 30 years I have been enjoying volunteer work for the club, mostly in the management/organization sector.

From 1976 to my retirement on November 1st 2005 I worked for the German government at various white collar jobs. My last employment was my best. I was in charge of in and outdoor maintenance & furnishings for a large German Army base.
