Obituary for Janet Lynne McCrory

Janet McCrory went home to be with Jesus in heaven on February 10, 2021 in Gig Harbor, Washington. She was a loving Mom, Grammy, and Gigi.

She was born on October 11, 1942 to Warren and Julia Hunter in Tacoma, Washington. Her father was in World War II.

Janet grew up in Gorst, WA and graduated from South Kitsap High School. She was a homemaker when her kids were young and later worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard until she retired. She was a longtime member of Christ The Rock Community Church. She loved Jesus with all her heart. She looked forward to her time with all her family. When she was not with family, she enjoyed staying active with her church, quilting club, and doll club.

She is survived by her two brothers; Gary Hunter and Brian Hunter and three children; Dean (Cindy) McCrory, Teresa (Richard) Mattson, and Todd (Sheila) McCrory. She is also survived by 6 grandkids Megan, Lacey, Courtney, Ben, Josh, Rylee, and 12 great-grandkids! Oh, and we cannot forget her beloved kitty, Lucy, who brought her so much joy!!! Well loved by everyone, she will truly be missed.

A Celebration of Life Service is planned for Saturday, February 20 at 1:00 PM at Christ the Rock Community Church and will be lived-streamed. Services are provided by Rill Chapel. She will be laid to rest with her parents and sister at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
