Norman Hamilton, former Kitsap County resident, passed away at age 69 in Yuma, AZ where he had been living for the past 20 years.
His wife of 21 years, Joyce, preceded him in death 2006. He is survived by 1 niece and 3 nephews.
A memorial service was held at Faith Baptist Church in Yuma.
Norm grew up in Olalla, graduated from SKHS 1960, was active in the Olalla Bible Church and Olalla Volunteer Fire Dept. He lived in South Kitsap various times until moving to AZ in 1990. During 1960s, Norm drove for Arrow Cab in Bremerton. In 1982 he was one of the first Kitsap Airporter drivers, and also helped expand this service to Fort Lewis and McChord.
From 1990 to 2003, as health permitted, Norm and Joyce did missionary childrens work in Mexico. Norm enjoyed fishing, hunting, potlucks, attending fairs, reading and driving. He drove trucks, bus, fire trucks, ambulance and a hearse. His first car, a 1950 Chevy, was his pride and joy. Working for the Tacoma Salvation Army was a special blessing to him.
Norm had many interesting, unusual, unexpected life adventures and is unforgettable.
